Breaking News: MTN Uganda CEO deported

News reaching our desk is that MTN Uganda CEO Wim Vanhelleputte has been deported.

This follows the earlier deportations of French Cameroonian Olivier Prentout, Rwandese Annie Bilenge Tabura, and Italian Elza Muzzolini, over national security concerns.

The order for his deportation was given by the Minister of Internal Affairs Jeje Odongo .

A document that orders for his deportation which we have seen and verified was signed by the above Minister.

“He’s already at the airport and destined for Belgium around midnight. Over similar circumstances of national security,” Fred Enanga the spokesperson for Police said.
